No one knows when or where Dee Bird was born, although some believe it was 1956, the year of the rooster. Birthed with the name Timothy Williams and later dubbed Dee Bird by PR-G’s staff in 2005, this bird is no ordinary rooster. It is rumored that up until his late teens he trained in the martial way under the direct tutorship of Bruce Lee. He acquired a smooth personality after he researched the lives of Cleopatra and Casanova. Some say they saw him study with Malcolm X in prison after Malcolm had his revelation. It has even been reported that on a visit to the Caribbean Dee Bird was spotted at several clubs with Elephant Man teaching him numerous dances including “Row the boat” and "Thunder clap." In 2004, for an unknown reason, Dee Bird pledged a vow of silence and only communicates telepathically through an interpreter. When he came to PR-G he brought with him the motto “Why Do You Care? Dee Bird's belief is that each individual’s personal answer to this question is fundamental in solving societal problems. “It’s a question we all must ask ourselves” he attests. “Why do you care? Once you know the answer to why you care, you will always have cause to step forward through the storm called life.” According to Dee Bird, he came to PR-G for one reason: “My assistance with PR-G goes way beyond Brooklyn, Bed-Stuy, and New York. I want to use my influence, skills, relationships, and talents to help PR-G and its collaborating partners nationally develop after school programs for our nation’s underserved youth. My goal through PR-G is to teach these youth fundamental skills and offer valuable experiences so that they can be better equipped for managing their lives.
