How we define terms:
Our definition of Teen Idleness:
When teens are in a changeless situation of inactivity and lack the motivation to participate in positive out of school or academic activities.
Our definition of partnerships: PR-G partnerships include the relationships between community members (teen to adult, teen to teen, adults to adults, etc) in order to create a more caring community. In addition, on the macro level, organizational partnerships form the coalition that helps to create the resource component in support of NYC youth.

PR-G's direct service participants and alumni are more likely than non-participants to have lower rates of:

HISTORY
In 2000, a childhood friend of Barnabas Shakur was accused and found guilty of a crime. This individual was given a life sentence in a maximum-security prison. Only 19 at the time of his arrest, he belonged to a notorious gang called the Bloods. Upon his friend's conviction, Barnabas was devastated and decided to create change. In 2001, he founded Bed Stuy's Project Re-Generation, Inc. (PR-G) with a vision is to eliminate teenage after-school idleness. To read the story of PR-G click here Quick Links |
