As a service project, PR-G students are required to be involved in the planning of our community service project, Community Pride Day (CPD).  CPD is an annual day of fun, games and entertainment for the entire Bedford Stuyvesant community; it was created and is managed by students.  With a threefold mission of inspiring community pride through fun activities, connecting youth to local youth programs and giving local business owners a venue to market and give away their products and services to the community, CPD is always an impactful day.  2009’s Community Pride Day was held in July and focused on providing information about local youth service organizations. The event featured various children activities, three (3) large children’s play houses, free food provided by local vendors, a live DJ, and special guests like New York Knicks legend John Starks and Bed Stuy’s own rap artist, Papoose.
