Homeowners Responsibility according to NYC Law:While snow is falling, complaints will not be taken about snowy or icy sidewalks. After the snow stops falling, property owners must clear a path for pedestrians and remove snow from sidewalks next to bus stops and hydrants as follows:

• If snowfall ends between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, property owners must clear sidewalks within four hours.
• If snowfall ends between 5:00 PM and 7:00 AM, property owners must clear sidewalks before 11:00 AM.

The City may issue property owners a summons for failure to clear the sidewalks within these time frames.

1. PREEMPTIVE - ANTI-ICING: Anti-icing is necessary when snow is anticipated. Anti-icing keeps snow from bonding to the surface preventing ice buildup and the use of ice picks and iron shovels on the surface.
2. THE JOB - SNOW SHOVELING:
   1. Most of the sidewalk directly in front of your property. Snow is placed on an agreed-upon area of your front yard.
   2. 90%-100 of your outer stairway(s).
   3. 4' path from side entrance to front gate.
   4. Path to trash.
      
   5. Our Snow Shoveling services includes Peladow Calcium Chloride Pellets:
      1. 100% environmentally safe - We use no salt, brine, corn, magnesium, alcohol, or any flammable ingredients of any kind allowing for environmentally safe and non corrosive ice control.
      2. The ice melt we use is long lasting and works for extended periods of time to control ice build ups.
   6. When a property is treated (Anti-iced) with liquid ice melt and or calcium chloride before a storm we use plastic shovels designed to be safe on new and cured concrete, asphalt, brick, aluminum and all metals.
3. ICE MANAGEMENT - DEICING: Deicing is needed when the surface of a property has been completely frozen after a storm. The process to deice is to spreading a generous amount of calcium chloride to neutralize a frozen area then the remaining ice must be broken to make a safe walking path.
