Freshmen & Sophomores Earn Funds & Community Service Hours!

We're looking for freshmen and sophomores willing to commit at least 12 hours per week. Our current participants are motivated by camaraderie, opportunity to earn income, positive experiences and the desire to create a brighter future. Interested teens should either click here to complete the online application or visit PR-G's office between 4:00PM & 6:00PM to inquire further.

  • Why Join?

    • Receive stipend: Approximately $84 - $200 biweekly.
    • Great work experience and references for college applications. 
    • Create and implement community projects.
    • Earn about 120 community service hours towards your high school service credits.
    • Learn basic personal accounting and money management skills.
    • Acquire leadership roles.
    • Have a chance to learn and grow in a supportive, caring and fun environment.
  • Prime Candidates are:

    • Freshmen or Sophomores in high school
    • Able to provide current transcript
    • GPA of 75 or above
  • You have a better chance of getting hired if you:
    • have a cell phone
    • have and use a email address
    • can produce two recommendation letters (from teacher, church, other employment, etc.)
    • possess an inviting character
    • are a residents of Bed-Stuy
      Or one of the following communities:
      • Brownsville
      • East NY
      • Bushwick
      • Crown Heights
      • Flatbush
  • Position Summary: Foot Soldiers

    Work 12 hours each week in the community removing rubbish, leaves and snow from sidewalks, curbs and gutters of PR-G members' properties; and participate in ROP.
  • Duties:
    •  Clean outdoors:
      • Sweeping sidewalks, gutters and yards.
      • Shoveling snow.
      • Raking leaves.
      • Cleaning lots and backyards.
      • Gardening.
    • Clean indoors:

      • Cleaning restrooms.
      • Sweeping and mopping.
      • Dusting.
      • General cleaning.
      • Operating machinery.
    • Transporting supplies and equipment.
    • When ROP is in session attend four ROP Sessions per month.
