The Concept:  Alarmed by the recent rise of gun violence, in early 2008 a muralist,  sought Bed Stuy’s Project Re-Generation, Inc. (PR-G)’s help with painting a mural against Parasites* and depicting community alternatives to gun violence. 

The Challenge: With the help of 15 teens from PR-G’s Foot Soldiers program and financial contributions from five collaborating community organizations, the iBang Mural Project was in full effect Summer 2008.  Unfortunately, due to the project’s enormity we ran out of money before the mural was complete! Recently the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, became a primary partner in this project and brought 90% of the funds and support we need to complete the project, however we still need to raise $3,000 to complete the mural.

The Contribution: We’re seeking partnership from more community organizations. Your contribution can help complete this powerful project.  Contributions of any size are encouraged. However, to have your organization’s name and website painted on to the mural it will cost $500.
